SURGE
Privacy Policy
Effective 1 October 2026
Surge is a single-player game for Android and iPhone published by Eric Fila. This policy explains what data the app handles. Surge itself doesn't collect or store any personal information. It shows ads from Google AdMob, and AdMob collects some data to do that, as described below.
What stays on your device
The game saves your best score, the deepest level you've reached, and whether you play in portrait or landscape, so they're still there next time. This is stored only on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. You can delete it by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Surge shows a full-screen ad when a run ends. These ads come from Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects and processes data from your device, including:
- Your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers
- Your IP address, which can indicate your approximate location
- How you interact with ads, such as views and taps
- Diagnostic information, such as app performance and crash data
This data goes directly to Google, not to us, and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy. You can read how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Your choices
- Consent. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and some US states), Surge asks for your consent before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy button in the game's menu.
- Tracking on iPhone. On iPhone, Surge asks once whether it may use your device's advertising identifier. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, ads still show but aren't personalized from that identifier. You can change this any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Advertising ID. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in Settings → Google → Ads (Settings → Security & privacy → Other privacy settings → Ads on some phones).
- Non-personalized ads. If consent hasn't been given, or its status is unknown, Surge asks only for non-personalized ads.
What we collect
We (the developer) don't collect, receive, sell or share any personal data. Surge has no accounts, no analytics of its own and no in-app purchases.
Children
Surge is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page will be updated and the effective date above revised before the new version of the app is released.
